Product Introduction

Hydroxyethyl cellulose is a kind of odorless, tasteless, non-toxic white powder or granule, which is a non-ionic cellulose ether obtained by a series of chemical processing with natural polymer material cellulose as raw material.

Hydroxyethyl cellulose can be dissolved in cold water to form a transparent viscous solution, which is not affected by pH value. It has the properties of thickening, binding, dispersing, emulsifying, film-forming, suspending, adsorbing, surface-active, retaining moisture and resisting salt. The main properties of hydroxyethyl cellulose are that it is soluble in cold water and hot water, and has no gel properties. It has a wide range of substitution degree, solubility and viscosity.

1) For water-based latex paint coatings: Hydroxyethyl cellulose is the most commonly used thickener in latex coatings.

2) For oil drilling: HEC is used as a thickener in various muds required for drilling, well positioning, cementing and fracturing operations, so that the mud can obtain good fluidity and stability.

3) Used in toothpaste: HEC can ensure the stability of toothpaste due to its strong salt resistance and acid resistance. In addition, due to the strong water retention and emulsifying ability, the toothpaste is not easy to dry.
