Andrographis paniculata is the whole plant or leaf of Andrographis paniculata (Burm.f.) Nees. There are heat-clearing and detoxifying, anti-inflammatory, swelling and pain-relieving effects. It is mainly used to treat bacillary dysentery, urinary tract infection, acute tonsillitis, enteritis, pharyngitis, pneumonia and influenza, etc. It can be used externally to treat sores, boils, swollen poison, trauma infection, etc.

Andrographis loves a warm and humid climate and is afraid of drought. If it is not watered for a long time, the growth will be slow, the leaves will be narrow, and the flowers will bloom early, which will affect the yield.

Andrographis paniculata extract is light brown to brownish yellow powder, odorless, bitter in taste and hygroscopic.This product is easily soluble in water, soluble in methanol, slightly soluble in ethanol, slightly soluble in chloroform.

The main active ingredient of Andrographis paniculata is still Andrographolide, and other ingredients other than Andrographolide include Neoandrographolide; Elephantolide A, B and C; 14-Deoxy-11-Oxyandrographolide and 14-Deoxyandrographolide Oxy-11-anhydroandrographolide.

Andrographis paniculata extract has antipyretic and anti-inflammatory effects, and has special effects on bacterial and viral upper respiratory tract infections and dysentery.
