The rhizome is short and thick and head-shaped, the stem is hollow, the stem leaves are ovate to broadly ovate, the corymb panicle is terminal, the corolla is lavender or white, the filaments are flat, and the flowering and fruiting period is July-September. It is native to Asia, Europe and North America, and is widely distributed in the northern temperate regions of America, Europe and Asia.
