Horse chestnut, also known as horse chestnut, is a common European tree species with chestnut-like, sweet fruit but less prickly, thick and soft shell.
The seeds of horse chestnut contain triaqua saponin mixture such as protoaesigenin, bmnagtogenol-C, horse millet aesigenin, 6-β-glucocysis-7-light coumarin, known as heptaxiene or heptaxiene. The content in dried crude powder is about 3%-6%, and that in standardized preparations is 16%-20%. In addition, the seeds also contain heptafolic acid, heptafolic acid and flavonoids (heptaxium, heptaxium, rutin, Z non alcohol), boot, starch, sodium magnesium, manganese, iron, diamond, iodine and alcohol, etc.
