What is Ganoderma Lucidum?
Ganoderma Lucidum is a large mushroom that grows mainly on the trees and fallen logs found in forests in the tropical areas throughout Asia. Its darker color, glossy exterior, and woody texture help to further distinguish this amazing mushroom with healing properties. It is known as the Lingzhi mushroom in China and as the Reishi mushroom in Japan. Ganoderma Lucidum has been used by these cultures for thousands of years and is also referred to as the "King of Herbs" throughout Asia due to its potent medicinal qualities.
Ganoderma lucidum extract also called Reishi Mushroom Extract, also named Ganoderma Lucidum Extract, Lingzhi Mushroom extract, Red Reishi Extract, Ganoderma Extract, is the ethanol or water extract derived from dry fruiting body of Reishi Mushroom. Main ingredients include Polysaccharides and Triterpenes. Reishi Mushroom Extract is usually used in dietary supplement .
There are three main parts of the mushroom that are harvested, each offering amazing health benefits: the Lucidum is the cap part of the mushroom and is harvested at the peak of maturity around 8 months of age; the Spores are the seeds ready to pollinate; and the Mycellium are the network of roots connecting all the mushrooms together in the earth.
